Day 1 (Calgary or Edmonton to Jasper)
Coach transfer from downtown hotels or airport to Jasper. Travel through the rolling foothills of Alberta into the majestic
Canadian
Rockies. En-route, take the Icefields Parkway, "One of the most beautiful highways in the world".
Overnight in
Jasper.
Day 2 (Jasper to Banff)
Welcome aboard! Jump-start your day with a refreshing hike in Maligne Canyon, the deepest limestone canyon in
the Rockies. Then head south on the Icefields Parkway experiencing its signature sights: Athabasca Falls, the
Endless Chain, the Crowfoot Glacier, and Peyto Lake, as well as possible wildlife sightings! At the Columbia Icefields,
take the "Ice Explorer "* tour and walk on a real glacier! Overnight in Lake Louise.
Day 3 (Sightseeing in Banff National Park)
Start your day with a walk to the Lower Falls of Johnston Canyon followed by a leisurely stroll along the shores of
picturesque Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. In the afternoon, join a Banff city tour featuring Banff Springs Hotel,
Bow Falls, the Upper Hot Springs*, or catch the gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain*. Overnight in Lake Louise.
Day 4 (Banff and surroundings - Independent)
Discover colourful Banff townsite at your leisure: boutiques, art galleries, cafés, and shopping. Overnight in Banff.
Day 5 (Banff to Kamloops - by Rocky Mountaineer Rail)
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the mountain town of Banff to Kamloops in the heart of British Columbia’s
interior. Your journey offers you a spectacular range of scenery as you travel between the high peaks of the Canadian
Rockies, over mountain passes and through remarkable tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranchlands
of the interior. Today’s highlights include the Continental Divide, the engineering marvel of the the Spiral, Kicking
Horse
Canyon, Rogers Pass, Craigellachie where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific
Railway was driven, and of
course
the glaciers, and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Overnight in
Kamloops.
Day 6 (Kamloops to Vancouver - by Rocky Mountaineer Rail)
Your journey continues west towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. On today’s journey, you
will
again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the interior, through winding river
canyons and pristine forests, to the Coastal Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser River
Valley.
Highlights include the steep slopes and snow sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of
Hell’s Gate in Fraser Canyon. Your journey ends on arrival in Vancouver this evening.
